Hey anyone needing help on you know math ask and I think mostly I can answer. It's can't be too high though. I can only answer question up to algebra level and that about far you can ask for, but nope not geometry yet, I will you when. Don't be ashame or afraid to ask. There is not a dumb question, so ask away, and do it any time. Try to check as often as possible. Even if it's for test I don't mind. O.K. I am here now ask if you want.

um, not too sure about math anymore. I am having a really hard tusal right, I can still but not with algebra, pre-al is okay but al is not for now. I am afraid I will give the wrong answer, but if anybody can answer why not, so any know how some like x+y = 7 3x+6y = 4
or not, it's all right if you are not clear I am struggling too, I will put a method as soon as I can, so if this upcoming problem cames to anybody else they can reference here

Despite being Gate, I'm in Pre-Al so sorry Rachel. I'm not sure exactly how to solve those problems so I'll just get you more confused (I dont want to risk that!) so I'll have to be silent.

Well, I'm ok at maths but I have no idea where I am compared to you. We have different system, so I've no idea. But if I can help I will.

`Hey curious so how does the Brittish math system go?

It varies from school to school. At my school we do certain topics each year, the topics getting harder each year, or doing harder biys of that topic each year. We're set so that the people who are good at maths are together and those who aren't as good are together as well. It might not be all that different as I've no idea how it works in America. Is it very different?

It's like that at our school as well. Math Developement for those who are slow and regular Math for average. If you're advanced, you try to get in Pre-Al early and then into...what was it again Rachel? Al-1 or Al-2 or something? Rachel's in the most advanced. I'm in Pre-Al and I admit that I was in Math Developement once, but it Math just isn't my forte. I'm surprised at my A (then again Pre-Al is just regular Math going faster and deeper into it)

Yeah, lucky, I had clueless math prealgebra teacher, at least people actually understand your teacher. I had to read every chapter again before teaching it to you know our dear friend, more common know as Selena Midyette
O.k. here is the math levels in our school
1math development
2 regular math, (at grade level) our titles is math then the grade like Math8 or math7
3 Prealgebra1 (gifted's class)
4 Prealgebra2
5 algebraAB
6 AlgebraCD (yes the highest, and yes I am in it.)
Pure torture! I don't like much, and when you do get to my class it's continual learning, not much review. All that is done at home. Everyday is a new lesson, not like easier math classes, you take time to review. An you really explore math in depth. This can help a lot for students wanting to persuit a job involving math. You can perhaps get to calculus in twelve grade. Sorry if that was too much, and I totally lost you there.
So what's your math system? how does it go? maybe list the levels.
Well, I don't though, I am more in to the writing field, and maybe a english teacher, or a creative writing teacher. If that stuff doesn't workk out, I was thinking a lawyer. It's sounds cool, and I love looking at situations and seeing if it's fair, or not. Of course the lawyer position also pays good, actually really excellent. Besides my main job I thinking, of writing, duh, that's why I have an account at ff.net. I love to write.
Actually, I am still surprised that I was able to get in to algebraCD, because I never cared about math much, and didn't really try in Prealgebra1 last year. Yep I jumped about two levels of math.

Well done for jumping the levels! I'm more into writing as well but I like maths aswell when I understand it.
At my school we are in sets- M1,M2,M3,M4,M5,N1,N2,N3,N4 and N5.
Basically M and N is the same, with 1 being the highest and 5 the lowest. The only difference between M and N is that M1 is fractionally higher than N1.
I'm in M1 and am in my third year at secondary school. I once worked out what year that would be in the American system but I can't remember.

Does Britain have elementary, middle/junior, and high? It really depends on your age to which grade your in. Ex. You start school when you're 5 in Kindergarden and you start First Grade when you're six and so on until 12 Grade. I haven't really though of the English system before.
Rachel, I think you forgot to mention that all 8th graders go to Pre-Al (except perhaps the slow ones). Also, what's the difference between Pre-Al 1 and Pre-Al 2? I've never heard of Pre-Al 2! *sacrasticly* Wow, I know our school so well.

In England you start school when you are 4, that year is reception (you have your 5th birthday during reception), next year is year 1, and so on. Primary school is reception to year 6 (ages 4 to 11), secondary school is years 7 to 11 (age 11 to 16) and then you can go on to college to do A levels and then on to university to get degrees. I hope that makes sense.

How interesting, we don't officially get in to school until five, which is kindergarten. At four you are are in what some people go to pre-K. That is rare most of the schools don't have pre-k but some do. Then we go to the main body of the school system Elementary school. Some still set at until sixth grade then you go to middle school. Some like my school have changed, you only go up to fifth grade, then it's middle school. Until eight, and it's nineth twelve for high school. Some have middle and high together and we just call it high chool. I seen some goes from k-8 so yeah. then it's either grads school or university, so that basically it. Do you notice we named our ranking system after the american school system? though I came up with the idea, I find it rather funny.

Pre-K is actually called Pre-School (though Pre-K is for short like Pre-Kindergarden), it's optional though it helps you prepare for school. You forgot completely about Junior Highs Rachel. When all Elementary Schools used to be K-6, Junior Highs were just for 7-8. Also there are some oddball schools that have Pre-K to 12. My Dad went to a K-12 school before.
The very last part I have no idea what you're talking about.
